Administration Orders

[Alt text]

To be eligible for an Administration Order you must have:

  • at least 2 debts

  • at least 1 county court judgement or (CCJ) or Penalty Charge Notice

  • less than £5,000 in total debt

  • available income

Most debts can be included in an Administration Order which allows you to make one affordable payment to cover these debts.

All interest and charges are frozen, and your creditors cannot take recovery action while the order is in place.

Payments can be adjusted if your circumstances change.

Payments can be limited to a set period, with the remaining balance of your debts being written off after this time.

Some creditors may object to an Administration Order and the court may agree to leave them out.

There are fees involved, though these form part of your monthly payment.

An Administration Order is recorded on the public register of judgments and on your credit file for 6 years.

This can make it harder to obtain credit.

To apply for an Administration Order, you’ll need to fill in form N82 provided by the court.

There are guidance notes called N270, that will help you complete the form.

The district judge has discretion whether to grant an Administration Order.

If you pay your debts in full under the Administration Order you can ask the court for a Certificate of satisfaction for a fee.

If you find a debt which you’d forgotten to include, or have accrued new debts, these could be added - so speak to the court.
