Contract Term:

Fixed term to July 2030 (5 year National Lottery funded)

Hours:

36.25 per week (job shared considered)

Salary:

£23,016 - £24,036 depending on experience

Outreach locations across Wigan Borough


Purpose of Role

We’re looking for self motivated, empathetic, non-judgemental people to join our team.

As a community adviser you’ll provide information and advice on social welfare law matters to people visiting outreach locations across the Wigan borough. This could include signposting, referring or providing practical support, such as completing benefit forms or applying for grants on the client’s behalf. You will also support the development of outreach volunteers and provide guidance to partner’s staff/volunteers.

You’ll need to:

  • have excellent time management skills in order to meet targets

  • have excellent oral and written skills to communicate information

  • be a team player, supporting the development of our outreach volunteers

  • be able to work independently

  • be able to drive (ideally) to various outreach locations
